In Your Face!

I love when I'm right. Dave and I were listening to a Beatles album the other day when the song "Lovely Rita" came on. I heard Dave singing along. "Lovely Rita, Rita Mae" as he sang it, but I said "NO, NO those are not the lyrics... it says, Lovely Rita, Meter Maid." Well, after googling for the lyrics I was pleased to find that I was indeed right. I should have bet a back-massage on it, because I owe Dave about 1,200 from previous bets that, unfortunately, I have lost. But, hey, I sure know my Beatle songs!

i have never heard of that song...
and i fully admit that i don't know beatles music very well AT ALL.
aaron would always quiz me in the car and it got to the point where i would guess 'the beatles' on any that sounded remotely close... and he would act offended for the beatles' sake if it wasn't them.
i am horrible at guessing the artist of music on the radio.
p.s. i think i owe aaron about the same amount of back massages. i would give anything to have the chance to give him just one more.
i miss him.

I am really impressed! I had never heard a beatles song until Scott and I started dating so he always wins the lyric contests! I don't know the words, just the beat! Unfortunately! I hope you are feeling well, and you and I need to talk soon without the boys on the camera!!! Have fun at Oprah

April, first of all let me say that your blog is great and I lvoe to drop by and visit. I jsut wanted to remind youof something before you get tooooo cocky! I seem to remember a little game we played at one of Aaron's birthday parties. It was called the "Name Game" and someone, I won't mention who, put down Bob Baran. "You know....Bob Bob Bob Bob Bob Baran." Now, who could that be?

Hello April!

It's Claudette - from way back when. I came across your blog a few days ago (it was linked to another friend of a friend's blog)-small world!

Just want to say hello - it was so great to see you and your beautiful family. I want you to know what an inspiration you have always been to me. You gave me a poem when I was 15 - right when we moved. I said: "Some people come into our lives and quickly go, others stay for a while, leave imprints in our hearts and we are never ever the same". You truly touched my life, and I've thought about you often over the years.

I heard about your families loss, and I found a poem the other day that may bring some comfort. Written by Gordon B. Hinkley before he passed away:

'What Is This Thing That Men Call Death'
Published: February 3, 2008
'What Is This Thing That Men Call Death'
By President Gordon B. Hinckley

What is this thing that men call death,
This quiet passing in the night?
'Tis not the end, but genesis
Of better worlds and greater light.

O God, touch thou my aching heart,
And calm my troubled, haunting fears.
Let hope and faith, transcendent, pure,
Give strength and peace beyond my tears.

There is no death, but only change,
With recompense for vict'ry won.
The gift of him who loved all men,
The Son of God, the Holy One.

Wish you the best,

Claudette
